Storm in Alice Springs, Monday 22nd Sptember 2008

On Monday 22nd September 2008, at about 1:15 pm, a really wild storm swept in to alice Springs and brought down trees and powerlines, caused minor flooding due mainly to blocked drains, and sent items tumbling. There is a complete look at the "devastation" on the ABC website: Go To
then click on the
"Storms rip through Alice" slideshow.

After the first storm passed, another storm appeared, this time it was full of red dust and not much rain.

The following photos are of the second storm front - the dusty one.

The first two photos are from Walker St., out the front of the house looking towards Heavitree Gap.

The following three photos were taken by one of my work colleagues. They are such good photos I've included them for all to see.
